MAC In Extreme Dimension Lash

Good morning!

So, my last post I raved about my new MAC love the BB Cream. Now I am going to talk about my other MAC love, In Extreme Dimension Lash. The name is so long, right? Anyways this mascara rocks! The price is $20 which is in the cheaper end of name brand mascaras, I think. I have never been impressed by MAC's mascaras before, but I saw this one and wow! It is so different. The brush is huge and I only need to put one coat on each eye and I am done. It volumizes, lengthens, and curls too. I love using this on mornings when I am in a rush because only one coat is required.

As a point of information if there is a mascara, I have probably tried it. From Maybelline to Dior and everywhere in between, it's probably been im my makeup bag at one point in time. And this one my friends tops them all.

Pros:

-Only requires 1 coat on each eye
-Volumizing, lengthening, AND curling
-Doesn't clump (the brush does an awesome job at equally distributing mascara on each lash)
-Doesn't flake (yay!!)
-Lasts all day
-Easy to wash off with regular face wash

Cons:

-Because the brush is so large, you have to dab off the tip before application because a ton of mascara is on there
-Can be messy if you don't have a steady hand

Tips:

-Clean up any stray mascara on the skin with a Q-Tip. This is especially necessary for me on the bottom lashes. The mascara removes easily so you won't have to scrub.
-Be gentle and not crazy when applying because the brush is so big.

This is my new favorite mascara of all time and I hope it becomes yours too! Let me know what you think!

Xoxoxo.

MAC BB Cream Review

Hey y'all!

Today I am going to talk about my latest beauty obsession, MAC BB Cream. As I have said before, my skin is nowhere near perfect. I usually use a medium/full build-able coverage foundation. With that said, I didn't know if a BB cream would quite be enough for me. So I gave it a shot and I am so happy that I did. It's so creamy and lightweight and gives you that no makeup feeling (which I love). It is also non-greasy once it dries, doesn't cake, and makes your face so smooth and fresh looking. It also reduces redness which is a major plus for me because the area around my nose is constantly red and I have redness from my breakouts. I wear this alone and rub some cream blush on my cheeks and it gives me a nice, healthy, natural-looking glow.

This BB cream is my favorite to date. I have tried Garnier BB cream (too greasy), Smashbox BB Cream (wasn't impressed for the $ and returned it), and many other over-the-counter products that had an unnatural color to them. The color for me is perfect. I wear the shade "light-plus." It says it's a light beige and it blends in seamlessly to my skin. I purchased mine in the store to try on the shades (definitely recommend this), but you can look at it online here.

I always like to mix it up with my brands but I can say that MAC is a company that has never let me down. They are a little more pricey, but you get what you pay for. I have a feeling this stuff is going to last a while and will make an awesome summer makeup as well.

I will post a picture of me wearing it ASAP. I will also be reviewing the new MAC mascara I purchased along with this, yay!

Please subscribe and let me know how I am doing!!

Front Twist Hair Tutorial

Hey y'all!

Today I made my first video and it's how to do a front twist with your hair. It looks like a front braid or a front french braid, except it is much quicker and VERY easy!

I wear my hair like this all of the time because I am very hot natured and it keeps my hair out of my face. Let me know what you think! Please subscribe/follow my blog and subscribe to my YouTube channel, Morgan Beek.

My Everyday Makeup Routine

Hey y'all!

Sorry it has taken me so long to post something. I was spending all of my time with my family over the holiday break and I have been busy with classes starting again, so I am back!!!

Today I am going to show how I do my everyday makeup. It's a quick and simple routine because I do not have time do go all out in the morning because getting more sleep is a beautiful and very necessary thing. It takes about 10-15 minutes depending on how awake I am!

Prep

I usually shower the night before, so in the morning I wash my face with facewash or apricot scrub and then immediately after I apply my moisturizer. This preps the skin to make your makeup go on seamlessly and flawlessly. Never ever, ever skip this step! I have very oily skin so that is not an excuse. Find the right moisturizer for your skin type and stick with it. Mine also has an SPF to protect my skin.

Foundation

In the second photo, you can see I mix my foundation and primer together. This really makes a difference compared to when you apply just foundation or primer then foundation. Combining them gives you a beautiful, smooth, matte-ish finish. I apply with my fingers when I am in a hurry and I think this works just as well as with a brush. Make sure to blend it into your neck and your ears for a seamless finish.

Blush

In the bottom left photo, I am applying my blush. Make sure you apply blush on the apples of your cheeks. The easiest way to do this is to smile and apply it where the fat parts of your cheeks are. It's supposed to enhance your cheeks/cheekbones so make sure you don't over-apply or apply in the wrong place. Also be sure to blend into your ears and into your foundation so it appears natural.

Eyes

I don't have a picture of this, but I basically just apply a thin line with my eyeliner pencil to my top lids only. It takes about 5 seconds time and makes a huge difference. I also quickly and softly apply eyebrow pencil to my brows just to make them appear fuller and more neat looking. I go over them with an eyebrow comb to soften the look and to comb them in place. I don't do this every day, but I do it most days.

Lashes

I curl each lash for a few seconds and then I apply 2 coats to the upper and 1 coat to the lower lashes. Curling your eyelashes opens up your eyes and does wonders for you when you're sleeping and your eyes still look asleep. To prevent clumps, I use a mascara that like scrapes of the clumps when you pull the wand out and I also dab the excess that's on te tip of the mascara on my hand. Make sure to apply your mascara by coating each lash and I use a lash comb to comb out any clumps, but I usually don't have any.

Finish

I apply a finishing powder because I like a matte finish as opposed to a dewy one. Like I said before, I also have oily skin (combination in the winter) and this also helps control the oil. The balancing act powder I use is translucent and leaves a beautiful soft, non-drying, matte finish and never looks cakey.

Products

The products I use are Olay Sensitive skin moisturizer, Covergirl Tone Rehab foundation, Prestige Cosmetics "Primed & Ready primer, a brown eyeliner (currently I use Tarina Tarantino eyeliner in "puppeteer" which they don't sell anymore but I also love MAC eyeliner in Teddy), MAC impeccable brow pencil in dirty blonde, Covergirl Simply Ageless cream blush in 200, Lo'real Voluminous Million Lashes mascara in blackest black (this one I accidentally bought the sparkly black diamond oops), Pur cosmetics "Balanced Act" setting powder (LOVE this), and classic Chapstick.

If you have any questions on the products or the application please feel free to send me an email or ask in a comment. I really want to make a video on how I do this so you can see up close and personal!

The Curling Wand

A few of my favorite things...

Day 7: Sultra "The Bombshell" rod curling iron 1 inch

This is embarrassing to admit, but I don't even know how to properly use a "real" curling iron. So how do I curl my hair? If you personally know me, you would know that I hardly ever wear my hair down, and when I do I like to curl it. Not tight curls, but more like soft waves. About 3 years I made an investment that truly saved my life. Ok, well that is dramatic but it has provided me with ends on ends of great hair days. And, it's SO fast! It takes about 10 mins to curl my entire head. Don't believe me? Then try it for yourself!

I will later be posting a tutorial on how to curl with this "wand" to achieve the look I do on my own hair. The product I use is made by "Sultra" and the product is called "The Bombshell," even the name is adorable. I purchased mine online I think through the Sultra website. But, right now folica is having their Christmas sale and your entire purchase is 25% off, so that will save you lots of $$$, which makes me happy. The iron comes with a cute pink glove so you don't burn yourself. I have a scar that has almost completely faded on my neck from this bad boy and one that I did about a month ago that is still bright pink on the inside of my right wrist. So be caution! They always say beauty is pain, but please try your hardest to pay attention at all times when curling your hair. My accidents happened when I was in a rush and still half asleep. :)

Don't burn yourself and end up sad and in pain like I was in the top left photo! :)

6 days til CHRISTMAS!!!!!

Dove Body Wash

A few of my favorite things...

Day 6: Dove Go Fresh Nutrium Body Wash

I love this body wash. It's so creamy and lathers up luxuriously. And, it's only $5 at your local Walmart. My favorite scent is the Plum & Sakura. It smells fresh, clean, and fruity and is not overwhelming by any means. It leaves my skin clean and moisturized even in the winter when skin can become unbearably dry and flaky. You can purchase it at your local grocery store or online here
